SPORTS CANCELLATIONS

BOWLING GREEN HOT RODS: The Hot Rods have canceled all games and events at the ballpark for the month of March. 

KHSAA: The KHSAA has announced that both the Boys' and the Girls' state tournaments have been suspended indefinitely. According to a release from the  KHSAA, "The Association will try and seek options for rescheduling later in the spring if at all possible, but not until after we have received collaborative approval from our Governor’s office, the Commissioner of Public Health and the Kentucky Department of Education."

NBA: The NBA has announced they are suspending their season indefinitely. According to ESPN this comes after Utah Jazz player, Rudy Gobert, tested positive for COVID-19. The Jazz was scheduled to play the OKC Thunder but this game was postponed after Gobert's diagnosis was discovered. Tony Jones of The Athletic reported that both locker rooms were being quarantined, and players were not allowed to leave. It's not clear at this time how long that process will last. Prior to the game the team announced that Gobert and Emmanuel Mudiay were both out for the game due to an illness.

NCAA: The NCAA has canceled the men’s and women’s Division I basketball tournaments amid fears of causing the spread of the Coronavirus COVID-19. The move ends the season less than a month before champions were to be crowned. The NCAA canceled all of its spring championships in every sport including hockey, baseball and lacrosse.

WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS: WKU athletics has announced that Conference USA has suspended all spring sports.

The official statement read, "Effective immediately, all Conference USA spring sports competition is suspended until further notice.

WKU Athletics will provide any relevant logistical information as it relates to its sports programs and the COVID-19 pandemic when appropriate."
